Palma - Agesaseae (Palmae).
Pharmacy name: arekovoy palm seeds - Agesae semen (formerly: Semen Arecae).
Botanical description. Palma with pinnate leaves up to 24 m high, with thick trunk of 30-50 cm is found in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan, Canada and many other tropical areas (ibid., and cultivated).
Active substance: arekolin and other alkaloids, tannin, mucilage, resin, fat.
Application. Earlier favorite vermifuge, especially in veterinary medicine, is used less frequently from diarrhea. Poisoning from 8-10 g have Aptekarsky goods.
